The 2016 Gateway Rotary Scholarship is designed for two groups, those who have received prior scholarships from our club and those high school seniors who have a GPA between 2.0 and 3.5. We strongly encourage students from Bartlett High School and McLaughlin Youth Center to apply for these $1,000 scholarships. Applications can be downloaded from this page under "downloads"

Gateway Rotary and The Kuskokwim Corporation have successfully raised $50,000 to complete the 2013 Rural Alaska Village Water Project. Thank you for all of the gifts from fellow Rotarians and others who have supported this wonderful program to supply water to village elders in rural Alaska. More pictures to come.

On May 18 Gateway Rotary had a very successful Yard/Garage sale for funding of worthy programs in the state. During our usual May snowstorm, we provided items for sale to the community and fun was had by all!

The Anchorage Alaska Gateway Rotary Club is collaborating with the Fajara Rotary Club of Banjul, Gambia to renovate and repair the Mohammedan School founded in 1908. Funds raised will contribute to the repair and refurb of classrooms, bathrooms and the roof of this school in the country of Gambia. Anchorage Gateway Rotary's 2012 International Project

We are raising funds to refurbish and making needed repairs to the Mohammedan Lower Basic School in Gambia. This project, in collaboration with the Fajara Rotary club of Banjul, Gambia West Africa, will make needed repairs to the school, which was founded in 1906.

Park Clean Up next Tuesday, October 23rd from 6-7 P.M. at our park convergence of Muldoon & Debarr Roads..

This will be our last clean up for the season.. we will be taking down the American flags and raking the last of the fallen leaves. Eveyone is encouraged to attend so we can be done quicker!! Dress warm~ See you there!!

Anchorage Gateway Rotary is a service group of business, education, health, social service, and other professionals, who work to make a difference in our community. We have a particular focus on improving literacy in our children and improving the graduation rate of students in our schools.

We're happy to report that the Muldoon Elementary after school programs are starting up again!

After a school delay we are ready to begin helping the 2012-2013 Muldoon 5th graders in their quest to read better.  We will be starting on Wednesday, November 7th at 4:30-5:30 P.M. in the Library.

This project started 4 years ago and has grown in student popularity each year. It's been a very rewarding volunteer experience by our Anchorage Gateway Rotarians and other volunteers seeing the 5th graders gain confidence in their reading and speaking skills.

One of our Literacy programs is : Read with children at Muldoon Elementary school.

For quite few years members of our club have taken the challenge of maintaining the little strip of grass and greeneries at the corner of Muldoon and Debarr.

Flags that we have placed there are a moving targets. They disappear but later show up again, as they did lately. Is not a big park, but with a bench and a stream flowing nearby is a nice place to rest and give some embellishment to the area.

Very often local residents, driving by while we are weeding or cleaning, do not hesitate to honk their approval and at times they scream a big "Thank you".

We like that!
