Nate Root from Southside YMCA brought us up to date about
all the improvements at the new YMCA location.  They offer so
many amenities including fitness classes, sauna, jacuzzi, and
salt water pool. YMCA members are able to enjoy either their
original location on Lake Otis or the newest addition in the
Dimond Center.  They offer wonderful family and youth programs.
District Governor Andre Layal visited our club September 27th at our regular Friday meeting. He reflected on the challenges our state faces, but the opportunities these challenges provide to our clubs for service projects. He celebrated our progress on forming a new Satellite club in D5010 and recent growth in membership since July 1st.  He looks forward to our district efforts providing Rotary education and training for club officers. He  talked about district plans for the $200/club Public Image stipend that will be provided this year.  He talked about the roll-out of our D5010 Mobile APP and progress by the five pilot clubs who are currently using the APP and invited clubs to share their stories and also send their feedback.  He mentioned plans for World Polio Day and encourage clubs to take action to celebrate eradication efforts.  Please contact him if you are interested about opportunities for Rotarians to be a part of Rotary Friendship Exchange in 2019-2020 and 2010-2021.
Kristi Wood spoke at our Friday meeting about Chanshtnu Muldoon park. Our club donated cherry trees and will help plant them this year.  The park is becoming a family gathering place for the Muldoon community. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood.
